NOSHOCK ESD UK Grounding Kit – 300x600mm (Blue) With Rounded Corners

I bought this after realising that cheaper silicone work mats advertised as anti-static are in reality anything but. For this mat's anti-static properties I have to rely on the manufacturer's assurances, but I trust them. It's a good size, thin, heavy and very flexible, so it sits nicely on the bench. It resists soldering burns pretty well. A second grounding point in the right-hand corner would give more flexibility in positioning the earth wire, but it's not a big deal.

We have one of these Matt's but couldn't say if it did anything or not. We can feel something but we're not ill, thus we couldn't say if anything improved BUT and it's a MASSIVE but, my mum has Sjogren's Syndrome and has had very painful feet for the last 30 years - 24, 7, 365... to the extent, she can't get to sleep because of the pain. We bought her one of these Matt's and within one, four-hour use, she said her pain was 99% GONE - overnight! She also has very bad arthritis in her hands and they are painful too... She has now moved the Matt to her lap and puts her hands on it and guess what.... the pain is lessening too. I've now recommended it to my 3rd sister who suffers from severe migrains.

This is well overprized. The whole kit could cost more than a tenner at best! I've returned it. Disappointed.

This mat is the best I have used, easy to lay on any existing bench. It is non-slip and the anti-static connection secure and unobtrusive. I have dropped hot solder on it and it has very little impact. I expect it will last me many years. Very good and I recommend it.
