Bought for my son.
I found my son was a fan of all things Starry Night and puzzles. Loved finding this and ordered it for him. He was thrilled. Looks pretty cool too.

Very difficult
Only puzzle I have ever done since I was a kid. Was for a coworkers birthday present. I think for me the hardest part was the middle. All of the parts look the same. Take your time going out to inwards and don’t get too frustrated. Take breaks, some pieces look just like each other.Took me about 3weeks to a month to complete.

Nice
Purchased for a gift but we ended up returning it. That was strictly a purchase decision on our part and had nothing to do with the product itself. The quality of this brand is nice. The pictures have always been great with this brand. The cost is fine. I would recommend purchasing this brand of puzzle.

You are accepting a challenge.
My mom and I get together once a month to do a puzzle. Always 1000 pieces or more, so we are not puzzle newbies. After putting together another art puzzle (Audrey of Mulberry; by another company) it gave us both a deeper appreciation of the work, so we jumped at the chance to do this one. Some positives for me are that this company prints most of their puzzles in the USA (to me a plus) and I can report that I have not had a puzzle with so little puzzle dust after the original sort. Upon completion the image is crips with a fair good amount of detail. As for the image "Starry Night" was painted using only 5 colors and is done in the impressionist style (if you didn't know). The limited color palette and impasto brush strokes going in every direction made this challenging enough. The real kicker of this puzzle was that all of the pieces (not counting the border) are all a for of the traditional H shape piece (2 tabs, and 2 blanks). What normally takes us a few hours, took us days. For a minimum of 4 hours each day we worked on it. The last day we had 264 pieces left it took us a combined 11 hours. Now that it has been a few months since we completed it and we are no longer mad enough to go Van Gogh crazy, I can say that I did enjoy the puzzle (Mom is still on the fence) and I did find new things to enjoy about "Starry Night", but it was tougher than anticipated. It was a challenge we accepted but we are both glad it's over.

Very Difficult
This was a gift for a puzzle expert. I received the grid cut version of this puzzle. The quality is very good. Some people have stated that they received a version with a sort of random jigsaw cut. If so, I don't see how they ever got them finished. The hardest part were the dark pieces toward the bottom and left. Sometimes only three to four pieces were installed per hour during the "dark" phase. Once the sky was reached, things sped up a little. If you want a puzzle that will drag out for many days, this is the one.Update: The quality was superb. There were no pieces missing. Once about half the sky was done, it started to speed up a little. We estimate it took 20-25 hours to finish it.

Challenging Fun
I just finished assembling this puzzle after quite a bit of solo work. It was a truly enjoyable challenge and the best kind of puzzle -- one where you feel a little daunted but never think "I'll never get this done." The cut on my puzzle was the kind with all the same type of pieces (so not random) and it was fine -- once or twice I had the wrong piece in the wrong spot but it was a rare occurrence and definitely not annoying. The finished product is gorgeous! I highly recommend this puzzle for someone who likes a real challenge.

Must be different versions of the puzzle
1000 PIECE VERSIONThe pieces are all cut practically the exact same (see photo). Several pieces weren’t fully cut through and the pieces don’t have a good “lock” when put together. By virtue of being an impressionist painting, the puzzle is challenging. Since the pieces are all cut the same, it was challenging and boring, perhaps tedious.Difficulty: 4/5 (box is very helpful)Picture quality: 4/5Piece quality: matteType of pieces: regular, 4-sided with exclusively opposing knobsShape: Rectangular, landscape2000 PIECE VERSIONChallenging with funky pieces.Difficulty: 4/5 (box is very helpful)Picture quality: 4/5Piece quality: semi-glossType of pieces: irregular with knobs and tabsShape: Rectangular, landscape
