Q: the mouse is a little laggy and i'm only sitting maybe eight feet from the receiver. any way to fix that or is that a side effect of a cheap combo?

You may be experiencing USB 3 interference on your 2.4 GHz mouse/keyboard connection. It's a well known issue in the industry but few consumers have even heard of it. Google "usb 3.0 2.4 ghz interference" and read up. It can definitely cause the lag problem. Bottom line- don't plug your nano-receiver into or anywhere near a USB 3 port. If you have no choice, use a USB extension for the nano-receiver. It's not the distance between your keyboard and the receiver, it's the distance between your nano-receiver and any USB 3 port.

Q: Does this work with a macbook pro?

Yes it does. Just plug the included usb receiver in and you're good to go. MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) - macOS Mojave 10.14.5

Q: How is keyboard turned on and off and how long to keyboard batteries last?

If I can remember once you put the batteries in the keyboard it just starts working. It last as long as the batteries last. Ive had one of these keyboards for almost 2 years with my son using it daily for school and it has not needed a battery change.

Q: Does this work with a iPad (2019 10.2”)?

I dont think so. The keyboard combo requires to match with a usb port of bluetooth. But iPad has no usb port to put on that Bluetooth usb.
